Collision Avoidance
- Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive offers optimum traction in all conditions, all the time.
- ABS with EBD. Anti-lock braking allows shorter stopping distances in emergencies and Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) detects and controls braking so you can steer away from danger.
- Vehicle Dynamics Control (VDC), a premium control system that is designed to give you optimum control in extreme conditions, such as swerving, side-slipping or entering a spin.
Collision Protection
- Occupant Safety. All current Subaru models have a 5-star ANCAP occupant safety rating1.
- Airbags. All current Subaru models have dual front, dual front side and curtain airbags.
- Crash protection cell. Every current Subaru model incorporates a protective cell of ring-shaped reinforcement frames to absorb the energy of an impact.
Security
DataDot security in addition to an Engine Control Unit (immobiliser system), makes stealing and identity changing of a Subaru very difficult.

Subaru has been using Horizontally Opposed Boxer engines in production motor vehicles since 1966. The Boxer layout offers advantages in weight and size. Length and height are considerably less than an in-line engine. Its centre of gravity is low and closer to the centre of the car, meaning better, more stable cornering also contributing to fuel efficiency and improved handling. An added safety advantage of the Boxer layout is in the event of a frontal collision, the engine is allowed to slide below the cabin rather than into it.

Subaru Interactive @ Docklands offers an intensive, 1 day course designed to provide drivers of varying ages and experience with the knowledge and skills that will help increase their level of expertise behind the wheel. The course is conducted by DECA qualified instructors at the purpose built Defensive Driver Training Facility, located at Subaru Interactive @ Docklands.
